ChestX is an application that is used to detect 14 diseases/abnormalities from a human chest x-ray image. The application uses a deep learning model(DenseNet) to detect the abnormalities. The model was trained by other developers and the model's parameters and weights was available on the internet. My work was to integrate the model in a web application, so that users(Medical Professionals) can use it easily.
Millions of people die in lack of medical coverage and misdiagnosis due to inexperienced professionals. So having AI aid the medical professionals in diagnosing patients and deploy it in places where there is lack of medical staff will help save many lives.
